Funded by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) through the Environmental Protection Fund, this project aims to provide a comprehensive assessment of current and potential Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) technologies in New York State. MRFs play a crucial role in processing recyclable materials to prepare them for market. By enhancing understanding of MRF technologies and their potential, this project aims to foster innovation and improvement in the recycling sector throughout New York State.

Create a comprehensive catalog of existing MRFs in New York State and highlight exemplary facilities from around the country.

Document Processes and Flows

Explain the layouts, process flows, and technological components of MRFs to illustrate how recyclables are sorted and prepared for market.

Present the collected information in a user-friendly website, tailoring content for different audiences, including:
